CASE STUDY: SAM BOUGHTON

Sam Boughton is an award-winning contemporary landscape artist based in Devon. Alongside her original paintings, Sam had built a compelling set of accessible online courses designed to help aspiring artists paint expressive, feeling-led landscapes with freedom.

Sam had an excellent product, a clear brand identity, and a sophisticated funnel already in place. What she needed was a paid media engine that could bring cold audiences in without diluting the artistic ethos she had spent years building.

“Julie and Sophie were fantastic to work with. I was taking my business to a new audience and they were able to work with me to create ads that strongly reflected the branding and ethos of my business.”

THE CHALLENGE

The brief evolved over the course of the engagement. Initially, the focus was building a consistent sales stream for the Part I course - a low-cost entry point where volume and cost-per-purchase mattered most. As the relationship developed, the scope widened to simultaneously warm audiences for the newer Part II course, which required a different creative and messaging approach entirely.

Running ads across both the UK and US added further complexity. Audience behaviour, platform costs, and creative resonance varied meaningfully between the two markets, and early US performance indicated that creative would need to be rebuilt from the ground up before it could scale profitably.

Above all, Sam's brand carried a distinct, emotionally resonant identity - creative, considered and connected to place. Generic performance creative was never going to work. Every ad had to feel like it came from Sam.

THE RESULTS

WHAT THE CLIENT SAID

“Julie and Sophie were fantastic to work with. I was taking my business to a new audience and they were able to work with me to create ads that strongly reflected the branding and ethos of my business. They constantly monitored ads and advised accordingly, which gives you great confidence when working on paid social and digital marketing.”
