WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you give us:

  • When you contact us, book a call or fill in a form: your name, email address, phone number, company name, website and anything you choose to tell us about your business.

  • When you book a call through our Calendly scheduler: your name, email address and booking details.

  • When you complete our Meta ads quiz: your answers and contact details.

  • When you become a client: contact, billing and contract information.

Information collected automatically (with your consent where required):

  • How you use our website, such as pages visited, device, browser, approximate location and how you arrived. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies. See our cookie policy for details and to manage your choices.

How we use your information, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to enquiries, arrange calls and provide our services: performance of a contract, or steps you’ve asked us to take before entering one.

  • To send you emails about our services, insights and offers: our legitimate interests (for business contacts), or your consent where the law requires it. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.

  • To understand how our website is used and improve it: your consent, through our cookie banner.

  • To measure our advertising and show our ads to people who have visited our site: your consent, through our cookie banner.

  • To show our ads to existing contacts on platforms such as Meta, Google and LinkedIn: our legitimate interests. We upload contact details in hashed (encrypted) form so the platform can match them to its users. You can object at any time, and we’ll remove you.

  • To keep business, tax and accounting records: legal obligation.

Who we share your information with

We don’t sell your personal information or share it with other companies for their own marketing. We use trusted providers to run our business, who process data on our behalf:

  • Squarespace (website hosting)

  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager)

  • Meta, LinkedIn and OpenAI (advertising measurement and audiences)

  • ActiveCampaign (email marketing and CRM, including tracking website visits by contacts who have engaged with our emails)

  • Calendly (call booking)

  • ScoreApp (quizzes)

  • Xero Accounting Software (clients)

If Nutshell is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy.

International transfers

Several of these providers are based in the US or elsewhere outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK, it’s protected by recognised safeguards, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep your information

  • Enquiries and prospects: up to 4 years after our last contact, unless you become a client or ask us to delete it sooner.

  • Clients: for the length of our relationship, plus 6 years for tax and legal reasons.

  • Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe. We keep a minimal record of the unsubscribe so we don’t contact you again.

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you

  • ask us to correct or delete it

  • object to how we use it, including an absolute right to object to direct marketing

  • ask us to restrict how we use it

  • ask for a copy in a portable format
