How Quickly Will We See Results?

It's the question almost every scaling e-commerce brand asks before signing off on a Google or Meta partnership, and it deserves an honest answer.

We'll always give you a straight assessment on this, but it's not something we can guarantee. Google Search and Shopping can show early signs within days when the setup is right. Meta typically needs a bit more time to gather data and find its rhythm. For both platforms, somewhere around 60–90 days is usually when performance starts to mature and steady, regular results come in. If we're taking over existing campaigns, results tend to arrive sooner than if we're starting from scratch. We're focused on results from day one, but we'd rather set realistic expectations than overpromise and have to walk them back.

What actually determines whether you're at the fast or slow end of that range isn't luck, and it isn't just down to the work we do. A handful of factors do a significant part of the work.

Below are our top four levers for getting steady results sooner.

How quickly will we see results

TRACKING

Tracking and data quality come first, ahead of everything else on this list. "When the setup is right" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that Google Search and Shopping line above, and this is what it means in practice - clean conversion tracking, server-side event data, and, for Shopping and Performance Max, a well-structured product feed with accurate titles, images and attributes. Google and Meta's algorithms optimise toward whatever signal you give them. If that signal is thin, delayed or wrong, no amount of creative or landing page polish will speed things up, because the platform is optimising blind. This is why tracking is one of the first things we review with new clients. An account with a sound set up will not only be good to go quicker than one that needs tidying up, it will have more valuable data already in the system, giving those first campaigns a better chance of thriving.

BUDGET

Budget that's sufficient to clear the learning phase matters almost as much. Most e-comm Meta campaigns run on Advantage+, which consolidates targeting into a single broad audience and lets the AI find pockets of demand across it, That structure typically exits learning faster than the old manual, segmented approach. However, it doesn't remove the volume requirement, it just moves it. The algorithm still needs enough conversions and enough creative variety across that broader pool to work out where the demand actually is. Google's automated bidding runs on the same underlying principle. If budget is thin relative to your average order value, or the creative pool is too small for the algorithm to test against, the delay isn't the platform being slow, it's a lack of data to work with (ie there isn't enough signal yet to optimise from). For smaller accounts this can be the explanation when results feel slow to arrive, and it's worth knowing upfront rather than discovering it two months in.We find it useful to discuss budgets in our first discovery call as it helps frame strategy and expectations.

LANDING PAGES

Optimised landing pages are essential to any successful e-comm campaign, but only once tracking and budget are in place. A page that loads fast, matches the message in the ad, and removes friction from landing to purchase will convert traffic that's already arriving, but it won't fix an account that isn't seeing clean data or enough volume. For more on optimising your Shopify store check out Planning to Scale Your Ad Spend? Creative for Meta and Google

CREATIVE

It’s widely understood now that ad creative is where we have the biggest lever to improve campaign performance. It’s also the task that regularly leaves brands with their heads in their hands at the prospect of creating the volume of ads needed to get the most out of your ad spend. It’s therefore imperative for us to find an efficient system that works for everybody, and that’s a priority objective for us. We analyse all past campaign performance, pick through reviews and press and go large on personas and understanding your customer in order to keep all ad creation as focused and relevant as possible. A genuine understanding of your customers and what motivates them to buy is what separates creative and copy that performs from creative that just looks nice. The brands who can articulate this clearly, or who work with us to uncover it early, tend to reach compelling ad angles faster, which shortens the testing cycle considerably. The brands that see results quickest are usually the ones who turn around new creative or approvals quickly.

None of this changes the initial answer, give it 60–90 days to properly mature, expect earlier signals from Google than Meta, and expect a head start if we're inheriting live campaigns rather than building from zero. The factors above are what push you toward the front of that window, and they're worth getting right before day one, not after.
