A contemporary landscape artist and course creator based in Devon, Sam Boughton had spent years building a loyal following through her painting and her coastline and moors inspired semi-abstract work. When she launched her online course, Plein Air Abstracts, she had a sophisticated funnel, a clear brand identity, and a product her audience genuinely wanted. What she needed was a paid media partner who could bring new people to it without compromising what made her brand feel like her.

THE CHALLENGE

We started with a single objective, building consistent sales for the £27 Part 1 course, but quickly moved into broader territory: warming audiences for a new higher-ticket Part 2 course, running campaigns across both UK and US markets, and helping Sam think through the longer-term shape of the business.

The creative challenge was as important as the strategic one. Sam's brand has a distinct voice and aesthetic. Generic performance creative was never going to work here.

THE RESULTS

Using a disciplined creative testing framework which analysed hook, hold, and buy rates on every ad via MagicBrief, we built a continuous improvement loop that tightened creative performance over time rather than starting from scratch with each new iteration. Part 1 sales ran consistently in the UK, and we worked closely with Sam to map out her full funnel strategy and sequencing for the newer Part 2 course.

WHAT THE CLIENT SAID

"Julie and Sophie were fantastic to work with. I was taking my business to a new audience and they were able to work with me to create ads that strongly reflected the branding and ethos of my business. They constantly monitored ads and advised accordingly, which gives you great confidence when working on paid social and digital marketing."
